Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

The Short Version

Canary is a writing tool for X/Twitter. You write content, we help you polish and schedule it. You own your words. We provide the tool. Don't abuse it.

Your Account

  • You need an email and password to sign up. Keep your credentials secure.
  • One account per person. Don't share logins.
  • You must be 18+ (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).

What You Can Do

Use Canary to write, rewrite, schedule, and publish your content to X/Twitter. Use the growth tools to improve your presence. Use articles to draft long-form content.

What You Can't Do

  • Spam, harassment, or hate speech — through Canary or otherwise.
  • Automated mass-posting beyond your plan limits.
  • Reverse-engineering, scraping, or reselling the service.
  • Impersonating others or using Canary for deceptive practices.
  • Anything that violates X/Twitter's Terms of Service.

Content Ownership

You own everything you write. We don't claim rights to your content. We need a limited license to display and process your content within the app (rewrites, scheduling, etc.), but that's it.

Billing & Cancellation

  • Free trial: 7 days. A payment method is required to start the trial, but you won't be charged if you cancel before trial end.
  • Paid plans bill monthly or annually via Stripe.
  • Founding rate applies only while your subscription stays continuously active. If you cancel and later reactivate, you rejoin at then-current pricing.
  • Cancel anytime from your settings. You keep access through the end of your billing period.
  • See our Refund Policy for details.

Service Availability

We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee 100%. We're a small team building fast. If something breaks, we fix it. We may also modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

No Performance Guarantees

Canary helps you write and publish better, but we don't promise any specific outcomes (including follower growth, engagement, impressions, clicks, leads, or revenue). Results vary by audience, market, and execution.

Limitation of Liability

Canary is provided "as is." We're not liable for lost posts, missed schedules, or any damages from using the service. Our total liability is limited to what you've paid us in the last 12 months.

Disputes

If there's a problem, email us first. We'll try to work it out. If we can't, disputes are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes get emailed to you with 30 days notice. Continued use after that = acceptance.
