What We Collect

  • Account info: Email address and hashed password when you sign up.
  • X/Twitter handle: Your public handle, used to personalize rewrites and connect your account for publishing.
  • Content you create: Drafts, rewrites, queued posts, and articles you write inside Canary.
  • Usage data: Feature usage counts (rewrites, posts queued, etc.) for billing and rate limits.
  • OAuth tokens: Encrypted X/Twitter OAuth tokens for auto-publishing. We never see your X password.

What We Don't Collect

  • We don't sell your data. Period.
  • We don't read your DMs or scrape your followers list.
  • We don't use your content to train AI models.
  • We don't sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.

How We Use Your Data

Your data powers the product — rewrites, scheduling, growth insights, and product analytics. We use Supabase for auth and storage, Stripe for payments, and Anthropic/OpenAI for AI features (your content is sent to generate rewrites but is not stored by those providers for training). We also use analytics and ad measurement tools (including Google Analytics and Meta Pixel) to understand usage, attribute signups, and improve marketing performance.

Data Retention

Your content stays as long as your account is active. Delete your account and we wipe your data within 30 days. Stripe retains payment records per their own policy for legal/tax purposes.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use essential cookies for authentication and security. We also use analytics and marketing/measurement technologies (such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel) to understand traffic sources, measure conversions, and improve campaigns. You can control certain tracking through your browser settings and ad platform preferences.

Your Rights

You can export your data, delete your account, or ask us anything about what we store. Email support@canarysocial.com. For ad personalization controls, you can also use Google Ad Settings and Meta ad preferences/opt-out tools.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll email you. No silent rewrites.
